My trusty PF25 was subject to a light fingered person at a MD Club open day ( NOT HAPPY JAN). My PF35 is my raw gold / bush pinpointer. But do not trust it.ģ: I would not use for any snorkeling or scuba without taking extra care prior to surmerging the unit - For me I will be using the Deteknix until I can get my hands on one of the newer Notka Pro dive kits. I am open to an alternative brand if ive missed something brilliant in the price range of around $200ġ: If you are dry land hunting and subject to the odd rain shower and or need to wash some dirt / mud off then it should not be a problemĢ: If you wading and using the pinpointer under water then depending on the exact nature of the split/s you may be OK for a little while. Hopefully i'm not starting a brand ware here but you have put me on the right path before. I've only the money to buy one once (and may even try for a 2nd hand unit) so hoping those with experience might be able to state why they would choose one over the other. I'll be hunting for coins and jewelry mostly (probably around sports parks ) but would also like the option for a rare distance trip to perhaps find a nugget ( appreciate that i'm under gunned for serious hunting but neve say never hey )īeing please with the Nox, i'm leaning towards the Pro_find 35 however I actually prefer the design of the Pro Pointer and have read a couple of un flattering reviews of the Minelab. I'll be hitting soil areas before long so will be needing a pin pointer.įollowing advice from this site I settled on the MineLab Nox 600 as my detector and although i'm still very novice at adjusting the settings i'm really pleased with my purchase (sadly I couldn't stretch to the 800 ). Although I've stuck to beach detecting so far which doesn't require pinpointer (finds are always in the scoop). Guess I have more research to do.I'm after advice again. I haven't read much about Pro-Find problems.at least not at the same level as the F-Pulse. Given the bolded part, I figured I'd be getting the 35 over the 15 (assuming I got the Pro-Find), but I wanted to make sure I know what I was getting for the extra $30 or so. For my spare it's between the Pro-Find35 and the Fpulse although both have had their issues by the looks of it ? I'm sure I'll end up taking the gamble anyway at some point. It's seems an unusually high number of complaints which is unusual for a Minelab product. I keep reading over and over again people saying they had problems with their Pro-Find which is why I haven't rushed out to get one, I want one for it's discrimination feature as it's something I don't currently have but all the people complaining of faults puts me off. The 15 is their entry level machine, as with all metal detectors you get what you pay for, the basic rule is buy the best you can afford so you don't want to upgrade later as it just costs you more in the end. If I was back coinshooting I'd be ok with the 35 but most likely prefer the old Garrett? For nuggets I really have no real need for any PP?.jmoġ5 only has auto retune, so you can't do what they were doing in that video. What I mainly use it for now is when I'm chasing that loud banging signal you know might possibly be a large chunk of iron and you've worked your butt off getting closer to it.then the Ferrous/non-ferrous function of the 35 comes in real handy and could save you some digging if indeed an iron target or nail. Like mentioned.PP's for my small gold really doesn't help me much but I do still pack it and get by with the 35. The 35 also does weird go crazy stuff and I needed to shut it off and turn back on (retune maybe?). The really small bits both PP's had to touch or almost touch the end of PP and half the time neither would sound off on the smallest bits. Myself and Goldseeker did a sensitivity test between the Garrett Carret and the 35 and the 35 was a tad more sensitive on some small nuggs by maybe a 1/2 in. I should ad that for the small nuggets I normally find the "divide & conquer" method works best for me. I have one and probably shouldn't comment as I've only used 2 PP's now, The original black Garrett and now the Pro-35.
